COMITIS seeks to serve socially-alienated infants, children, teenagers, young adults and adults; to be a viable alternative helping agency, helping people explore and understand themselves in their relationships to others and their environment; to assist them in solving their problems at crisis points and throughout everyday life; to provide preventative counseling in an attempt to alleviate the possibility of a crisis situation.
Further, the COMITIS Program of Services is available to all eligible people regardless of race, color, national origin, citizenship status, sex, age, or handicap. COMITIS is an Equal Opportunity, Male/Female Employer. Consequently, the Program in concert with its Mission, provides all services on a true 24-hour per day basis via paid, trained personnel with volunteer/college intern assistance, to literally any person, of any age, from anywhere, regardless of financial status, and with literally any type of problem/crisis situation. The Program is the only one of its type in the Rocky Mountain Region, is a true Community Crisis Center, is often "the agency of last resort" for the person in need, and is best described as a "human service emergency room".
